| January 16, 2018 | *** | SNOW DAY | *** She woke up to a cold draft floating in her room. Blinking the sleep away from her tired eyes, she peered around her semi-bright room. Her window, which was open from last night, allowed her to see the white world around her. It was cloudy outside the sun’s rays still penetrated the world below. She sat up and gazed longingly outside. Snow. The last time she saw the white blanket on the earth was years ago at the mountains she would go to with her family. She smiled and shifted her body so she could climb off her bed. Her feet sank in the soft carpet that lingered on her floor and she padded her way to her closet, dragging a winter coat off its hanger and slipping it over her sweater clad body. She stuffed her feet in some boots, not caring if it was rain boots.
